MuslimView is an online newspaper for the British Muslim community. It has been set up to add to the emerging Muslim media and it has specifically been set up to challenge and disrupt the anti-Muslim narrative that some are seeking to substantiate within British society.

It will do this by:

• Celebrating the many achievements of British Muslims in support of the Muslim community and wider society
• Covering stories that the mainstream media fails to pick up
• Investigating stories that do emerge in the mainstream media and providing a fuller explanation where necessary
• Providing a space for British Muslims to develop their own narrative and discuss various issues which would hopefully lead to the development of a language of engagement with wider society

The Muslim community is a dynamic community that is undergoing rapid change. It has become in recent years the subject of policy, media attention and law. There are however many aspects of ‘the Muslim story’ which remain uncovered, over-generalised and unsubstantiated. This is distorting the development of the community and more importantly its self-identity. This online newspaper is one attempt to disrupt the anti-Muslim narrative that is seeking to emerge from certain quarters.
